2022 COMPETITION WINNER AT OPERA FESTIVAL SCOTLAND
Coloratura soprano Joanne Whalley trained at Morley college and since then has gone on to become a competition winner at Opera Festival Scotland where she sang Berg's "Lied Der Lulu" and Donizetti's "Quel guardo il Cavaliere".
“Soprano soloist Joanne Whalley was clear, clean-toned and soaringly powerful in all her solos. In the first movement, Song and Bacchanal, she absolutely excelled.”
Review by Alan Cooper of the premiere of a new arrangement of Holst’s Choral Symphony by Ralph Jamieson, with Stonehaven Chorus, May 2024.
